A woman who has just completed her third suicide attempt is welcomed by her former “failures” on her journey to a yearned-for death. Suddenly, she is resuscitated by an unwelcome doctor and is torn back into the mortal world. Based on Sylvia Plath’s poem “Lady Lazarus,” this movement-based performance uses music, her text, and the human body to explore the journey of resurrection.
“Dying
is an art, like everything else
I do it exceptionally well”
